The conventional ways we’ve been taught as women about how to take care of our bodies are whack.
But listen, it’s not your fault! Our diet culture that promotes those “fixes” has seeped into everything around us: social media, food marketing, fitness messaging, diet products, tv and film, and even conventional medicine. It drives our diet industry, one that makes about $60 billion (yeah, BILLION with a B) each year with a 95% failure rate. It’s almost like… it is designed that way to keep you coming back (spoiler: it absolutely is).
So, it only makes sense that this might be the only way you know how to approach nutrition to try to make healthier choices for yourself, and that you might be feeling completely frustrated by how complicated it seems. I certainly felt stuck with the “old” ways of constant pressure to look a certain way, trying new diets every few months, and punishing my body with exercise I didn’t even like just a handful of years ago.
